Substitute School Registered Nurse (RN) – Health Office

Horizon Healthcare Staffing is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse to serve as the primary nurse at an elementary school in Weehawken, NJ. You will be supporting the health and well-being of approximately 350 students in grades 3–6. This role offers a consistent weekday schedule in a supportive school district environment.

Job Details

• Schedule: Monday through Friday
• Hours: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Assignment Duration: January through June
• Mandatory lunch break included

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary school nurse for the building
• Provide daily health care services to students, including assessment, treatment, and documentation
• Administer medications and manage student health plans as required
• Respond to student illnesses and injuries during school hours
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and administration regarding student health needs
• Maintain accurate health records in compliance with district and state guidelines
• Collaborate with two district nurses available for support and consultation as needed

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted New Jersey nursing license (RN)
• CPR Certification
• Must be willing to obtain a school nursing certificate (We reimburse!)
• Must be willing to get your New Jersey Department of Education Fingerprints (We reimburse!)
• Previous school nursing or pediatric experience preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with district nursing staff
