School Nurse (RN/LPN) – Bus Transportation

Horizon Healthcare Staffing is currently seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in West Orange, NJ to work with a student in a 1:1 capacity during their transportation to and from school on the school bus.

• The assignment would be both morning and afternoon bus rides with the student.
• The nurse will receive pay for a minimum of 2 hours in the morning and for a minimum of 2 hours in the afternoon.

Hours: AM Pickup: 7:55am | PM Pickup: 2:05pm

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Bus Transport Responsibilities

• The nurse will be responsible for meeting the parent/student at the student’s home and ride the bus to school.
• Provide comprehensive medical assessment according to nursing practice standards.
• Monitor and administer medication(s) and give treatment(s) if needed.
• Respond to and assess emergency health needs of students.
• Ensure the safety of the child.
• Documentation of daily activity
• Ability to assist in case of an emergency.

Requirements:

• Must have one year of professional experience as a nurse.
• Active BLS or CPR card
• Experience with 1-1 care a plus!
• Experience with children a plus!
• Must have or be willing to get fingerprinted by the Board of Education (we reimburse!)
