World Occupational Therapy Day 2012

world occupational therapy day 2012This past Saturday, October 27th 2012, was World Occupational Therapy Day. According to WFOT.org –> “WFOT World Occupational Therapy Day is the opportunity to heighten the visibility of the profession’s development work and to promote the activities of WFOT locally, nationally, and internationally.”

If you were looking for ideas or ways to help spread the word about World Occupational Therapy Day, WFOT’s website provided you with links to download logos, posters, and cover art. They gave you the rights to distribute and use their logos and cover art for free. As part of this amazing day, people created virtual exchanges, organized fundraising events, created massive amounts of blog articles, and hosted Twitter events.

Although WFOT recognizes October 27th as World Occupational Therapy Day, it has been a month long celebration of the occupational therapy profession. Additionally, just because the day has passed, does not mean that the promotion stops. Everyone involved in the occupational therapy profession needs to continue to create awareness and promote.
