America’s Greatest School Nurse Contest 2017

Are you America’s Greatest School Nurse? Pfizer wants to find out who is. They are sponsoring a contest to find America’s Greatest School Nurse. The nomination period is open from January 9th, 2017 until February 23rd, 2017. The entire contest runs from Jan 9th, 2017 up until April 16th, 2017. In order to be eligible fore this contest you must be a full or part time employee (working at least two days per week) at a public, private, or charter school at the nursery elementary, middle, junior or high school level in one of the fifty United States or Washington D.C. School nurses employed at colleges, universities and vocational / trade schools are not eligible for nomination.

How to Enter:

• You can enter the contest by visiting their home page and completing the official entry form and providing an original essay (max 600 characters) describing why you feel your nominee is America’s Greatest School Nurse.
• If you are nominating someone other than yourself, you must have his/her permission to do so.
• Essays should focus on how the nominee exemplifies the caring and compassionate nature of nursing, how the nominee has demonstrated a passion for the job and has gone above and beyond; an in what was the nominee has made a personal impact on students.

The state in which the nominee is employed as a School Nurse will determine the state in which the entry will be categorized for judging

Judging: There will be three tiers of judging

1st Tier: All eligible Entries received during the entry period will be judged based on the following criteria:

1) Exemplifies the caring and compassionate nature of nursing (30%)
2) Demonstrates a passion for the job/goes above and beyond (30%)
3) Personal impact on student(s) (30%)
4) Spelling, grammar and punctuation (10%)

2nd Tier: The top 510 Semi-finalist entries (10 from each state) will then be judged by a separate panel of qualified judges on the following criteria

1) Exemplifies the caring and compassionate nature of nursing (30%)
2) Demonstrates a passion for the job/goes above and beyond (30%)
3) Personal impact on student(s) (30%)
4) Spelling, grammar and punctuation (10%)

Third Tier: The 51 finalist entries (1 from each state) will then be scored by a panel of qualified judges on the following criteria to determine the grand prize winner

1) Second Tier(90%)
2) Online Voting (10%)

Grand Prize package: The “Ultimate Summer Vacation” package.

Finalist Prizes (51, one (1) per state): $500.00
