LMSW Job Description:
Social workers help individuals and families with personal issues, including drug or alcohol addiction, mental or physical disabilities, domestic abuse and extreme poverty. Social workers often specialize in one area of preference or need. Public Schools typically have a social worker who acts as a liaison between the children, the child’s parents or guardian and the school. They help children dealing with emotional problems or developmental problems as a simple as a speech delay.
While a social worker may have an office and a traditional work desk, they frequently travel to homes, schools and churches within their geographic region. There may be a lot of overtime necessary on evenings and weekends as emergencies and special cases arise.
