Horizon Healthcare Staffing is searching for pharmacy technicians for a pharmaceutical company located in Nassau County, New York. We require the pharmacy tech to have at least 6 months experience, with retail experience being a plus. We have temp positions and temp to hire positions available for this client. The pharmacy technician will be required to help the licensed pharmacists dispense prescription medication to customers or health professionals. Pharmacy techs work under the supervision of pharmacists, who must review prescriptions before they are given to individuals.

Job Type: Temp or Temp to Perm

Location: Nassau County, New York

Schedule: Monday – Friday position from 9am-5pm

Pharmacy Tech Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Take the information needed to fill a prescription from customers or health professionals
  • Measure amounts of medication for prescriptions
  • Package and label prescriptions
  • Organize inventory and alert pharmacists to any shortages of medications or supplies
  • Accept payment for prescriptions and process insurance claims
  • Enter customer or patient information, including any prescriptions taken, into a computer system
  • Answer phone calls from customers
  • Arrange for customers to speak with pharmacists if customers have questions about medications or health matters

Job Requirements:

  • High School graduate
  • Pharmacy Technician Certificate
  • At least 6 months experience
  • Retail pharmacy experience a plus
  • Good customer service skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Good organizational skills
