NICU Nurse is Thanked by the Families of the Babies She Saved

Renee Hendrix, RN is a NICU nurse at WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia. She has cared for thousands of premature babies over the years. She was asked to sit and watch a video, not knowing what it was for. A video clip was shown of the families explaining how wonderful Renee had been to their precious babies, and how she had helped save their lives.

The video is part of a campaign by Kleenex to share a message of care. They are asking individuals to post messages or videos to their site to show their appreciation to the people that have cared for them over the years.

When the video was over, family after family entered through the door with pictures of the babies. Renee would stay in contact with families to see how their little ones were doing, but she never would have guessed she would be personally visited by them just for a moment of thanks.

On being a NICU nurse she said, “I love taking care of these babies. I don’t do what I do for any kind of thank you, but it’s a wonderful feeling to be appreciated.”
