Job Description:

The Manager of Clinical Informatics works collaboratively to support comprehensive care coordination activities and to use clinical metrics and data to achieve these goals. Directly responsible for monitoring and reporting on applicable data sources and to assist the management team with concurrent oversight of clinical quality indicators and cost metrics to ensure targets are being achieved.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a resource for all divisions on reporting metrics for PQRS, Meaningful Use, CAHPS, OCM and like programs.
  • Track, and report to Management all internal and external clinical quality initiatives, all commercial payer contracts, and CMS programs.
  • Global clinical program compliance monitoring with both clinical and management personnel to support quality and value based contracting initiatives.
  • Serve as primary compliance expert and liaison for CMS and commercial payers.
  • Provide IT resources and infrastructure support locally at corporate office
  • Documentation and aggregation of detailed clinical requirements and workflow processes.
  • Analyze and report on clinical and cost data metrics.
  • Report to management compliance with all commercial and government sponsored clinical quality programs. Act as enterprise expert in compliance requirements from each payer. Requires ongoing contact and communication with Payers to ensure Management and Board have current and accurate information.
  • Presentation and explanation of quality results to providers and other staff.
  • Continuous review of documentation and data to suggest improvement strategies which ease documentation and improve compliance.
  • Analyze and communicate division needs to identify system and procedural solutions for enterprise-wide enhancement of clinical efficiencies.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technologies in areas that improve and promote the clinical requirements.
  • Identify product enhancements to maximize the use of technology which will optimize care delivery processes and effectively communicate patient care activities.
  • Act as third party liaison to vendors.
  • Acts as “customer support” for Division inquiries, concerns, etc. Develops strong and trusting relationship with each division.
  • Travel to all division locations to build relationships and collaboration with providers and staff, educate on metrics and compliance and assist with concerns or difficulties related to procedures.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years related experience in physician relations or practice administration required.
  • Knowledge of analytics and reporting to support population management, medical management initiatives, and quality metrics reporting.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Value Based Clinical programs with emphasis on collecting, analyzing and reporting data.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of compliance experience for Federal and State health care programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications; Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Experience and proven ability to learn new software systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, required.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Occasional travel is required.
  • Sit up to 8 hours per day.
