Horizon Healthcare Staffing is currently in need of a Registered Nurse (RN) to work in the health office as a Temporary Health and Wellness Director (RN) in Middlesex County for the remainder of the ‘25- ‘26 school year!

Assignment: Temporary Health and Wellness Director (RN)
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Hours: 40 hrs. per week: 8am-4pm OR 9am-5pm
Duration: April 1st-June 30th
Students: General population students (16-24 years old)
Rate: $47/hr

Responsibilities
A day in the life for this role includes:
1. Render first aid treatment and assist physician in treating serious accidents or illness according to health care guidelines (HCG).
2. Treat minor injuries and illnesses according to doctor's instructions and maintain student and child health records.
3. Assist the HWM to manage the record keeping and reporting of student injuries in the system provided by DOL.
4. Provide direction and technical assistance to LVNs in all required health related programs.
5. As required, take after-hour phone calls from non-health staff for student's medical symptoms not covered under the symptomatic management guidelines (SMGs) or directed calls per the SMG.
6. Assist in development of community linkages for health and disability resources.
7. Provide oversight of all wellness center activities in the absence of the HWM.
8. Participate in required staff training as outlined in the center's annual training plan.
9. Participate in and/or conduct required DOL and MTC meetings as directed by HWM.
10. Participate in regional DOL calls as needed.
11. Coordinate the applicant file review process in the absence of the HWM.
12. Function as the medical co-disability coordinator for the center if designated by the HWM.
13. Participate in student employability programs and activities.
14. Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps zero tolerance policy.
15. Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
16. Maintain accountability of staff, students and government property and adhere to safety practices.
17. Provide regular feedback to staff regarding Career Success Standards procedures and intervention techniques.
Qualifications
You'll be a perfect fit for this position if you:
- Have a passion for working with the young adult population!
- Are interested in gaining an understanding of adolescent growth and development!
- Have one year of professional experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Possess an active CPR card.
- Possess an NJ Nursing License
- Must be willing to get your New Jersey Department of Education Fingerprints (We reimburse!)
- Must be willing to obtain a substitute school nurse certificate. (We reimburse!)
