Description
Horizon Healthcare Staffing in New Jersey is searching for a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) for one of our group home clients. Certified medication aides usually provide services in assisted living facilities, comprehensive personal care homes and assistant living programs. We currently have job openings in Bergen, Morris, Middlesex, and Mercer Counties. Our client is looking for certified medication aides to work per diem. You will be asked to work with patients with dementia and alzheimer's disease in a group home setting.
Job Details:
- Group Home Setting – dementia and alzheimer's
- Bergen County, Morris County, Middlesex County, and Mercer County
- Per diem
- Shifts include 7a-3p, 3p-11p, or 11p-7a
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide residents of the group home with medication administration and treatment assistance and services according to the health care provider's orders
- Supervise residents of the group home who self-administer medication while following company and regulatory guidelines
- Report any changes in residents' physical condition and/or behaviors
- Maintain resident records regarding medication distribution, leisure activities, incidents and observations
Job Requirements:
- Current New Jersey CMA certification
- To be eligible for certification as a medication aide, you must be currently certified in New Jersey as a nurse aide, home health aide or personal care assistant.
- At least 6 months experience as a certified medication assistant
- High School diploma or GED
- CMA should demonstrate an ongoing ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with co-workers and other departments
