There are certain requirements that most hospitals need RNs to have in order to work in their facility. Some of these requirements include:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree or any other professional diploma in Nursing – you might encounter hospitals that will only hire nurses that have a Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN).
- 1 to 2 years’ experience prior to taking on a job in Hospital Setting. We know it’s very difficult to get a start in nursing. Some hospitals set up a program to allow new grad RNs to learn and work within the hospital to gain experience.
- Empathy, interpersonal communication, decision-making and critical thinking
- Information retrieval software and medical software
- Technical skills with traction equipment, vascular catheters, and various imaging systems like ultrasound
