ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Horizon Healthcare Staffing is seeking experienced, dedicated, and motivated Intensive Care Unit Nurses (ICU RNs) to join our team for local, long-term assignments at a reputable hospital located in Trenton, New Jersey.

Intensive Care Unit nurses provide continuous, specialized nursing care to critically ill or unstable adult patients, monitoring vital functions, administering treatments and medications, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess critically ill or unstable patients’ vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall clinical status.
• Administer medications, fluids, and life-sustaining treatments such as ventilator support, IV drips, and blood transfusions.
• Respond rapidly to emergencies, performing interventions like CPR and assisting with advanced life support procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and adjust individualized care plans.
• Operate and maintain specialized equipment including ventilators, infusion pumps, and cardiac monitors.
• Provide compassionate, high-quality care while educating and supporting patients’ families.
• Document all assessments, treatments, and changes in condition accurately in electronic medical records.
• Maintain infection control and patient safety standards in compliance with hospital and regulatory protocols.

Required Qualifications:

• Active New Jersey State RN License
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU hospital experience
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification – American Heart Association
• Additional certifications depending on specialty
