Family Nurse Practitioner / NP

Horizon Healthcare Staffing is searching for a family nurse practitioner (FNP) or general nurse practitioner for one of our progressive and comprehensive state of the art facilities located in Nassau County, Long Island. A nurse practitioner is an advanced practice nurse that helps with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations. A family nurse practitioner covers the full lifespan including newborns, infants, children, adolescents, adults, pregnant and postpartum women, and older adults.

Job Duties / Responsibilities:

• The focus of the Advance Practice Registered Nurse APRN is to provide care that promotes health and well-being, prevents and manages disease, and promotes rehabilitation.
• The APRN provides and coordinates care for patients and their families throughout the acute care continuum facilitating the admission/discharge process and providing continuity of care through daily clinical rounds.
• The APRN provides educational opportunities for associates, influences change and advancement in clinical practice.
• Diagnose, treat, and help patients manage acute and chronic illnesses.
• Conduct physical examinations and interpret medical history.
• Order and perform diagnostic tests and procedures.
