RN – Quality Assurance Job

 

Full time (M-F) Office and community business settings, travel required

 

Job Description: The individual will be required to perform in a quality, professional role for on-site surveys, record reviews, data collection and recording, education and training for internal and external customers.

 

Requirements:

  • At least two 2 years prior experience as an RN
  • Current and active certification/licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in good standing in New York State.
  • one (1) to two (2) years performing medical record audits and/or site surveys
  • Detail oriented with highly organized work skills
  • Demonstrate logical reasoning and critical thinking skills
  • Manual dexterity with ability to use computers and other office equipment necessary to complete auditing activities and other assignments
  • Advanced level computer skills and knowledge ie Microsoft Office products, include, Excel, Word, Access, Outlook and other database management software
  • Valid NYS Driver’s license and ability to drive a vehicle in NYS or use public transportation to attend site surveys
  • Visual and auditory comprehension and function
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective listening skills
  • Ability to access various settings, negotiate architectural barriers (ie stairs) in office and community settings.

 

Desired Skills / Qualifications:

  • Three (3) to four (4) years of progressive experience in nursing, vocational/rehabilitation counseling, behavioral/mental health services, or quality related organization strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrate initiative and perform as a motivated self-starter
  • Demonstrate a mature, professional, respectful demeanor and style
  • Bilingual communication skills desired, Spanish preferred
  • Commitment to continuously provide quality services to all customers

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Candidate must understand and be willing and able to assume roles and responsibilities
  • Perform as a leader during record reviews/audits and site surveys
  • Perform as a highly motivated review team member during audit and educational activities
  • Assist in developing audits tools and other materials
  • Demonstrate effective oral presentation and writing skills to prepare clear, concise and accurate verbal and written reports
  • Execute daily activities – complete auditing workflows and assigned tasks
  • Assist in all aspects of Data Management, to include but not limited to data and trend analysis, tracking and reporting, and review projects
  • Assist in the orientation of new staff and ongoing training of team staff and external customers
  • Assist with site visit schedule and activities for visits and reports
  • Continually work to create an environment of teamwork toward common goals, mutual support and respect
  • Collaborate as a member of a team with all review activities
  • Maintain current and up to date knowledge base in vocational rehab services, and related topics for active licensure
  • Other duties as assigned
