Field Trip Registered Nurse

Horizon Healthcare Staffing is seeking Registered Nurses to provide medical care and ensure the safety of students and staff during field trips on Long Island. The Field Trip RN will be responsible for assessing and managing student health needs, administering medications and treatments as prescribed, and implementing emergency procedures as needed.

• Hours will vary

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and manage the health needs of students during field trips
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Implement emergency procedures as needed, such as first aid, CPR, or calling for additional medical assistance
• Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and other healthcare providers to ensure that all necessary medical information is obtained and communicated
• Ensure that appropriate measures are taken to accommodate any special needs or conditions
• Maintain accurate and complete medical records and documentation
• Travel to various field trip locations throughout Long Island
• Provide medical care and supervision during events or activities where students leave the school grounds for the purposes of curriculum-related study, outdoor education, or entertainment
• Work flexible hours as needed to accommodate varying field trip schedules

Qualifications:

• Current NY RN license
• Current CPR
• Knowledge of Long Island geography and travel logistics preferred
• Previous field trip experience preferred
