Correctional Nurse

Horizon Healthcare Staffing is currently seeking full-time Nurses to work within a Correctional Facility located in Morristown, NJ in Morris County. This position is subjective to your schedule and offers a flexible monthly block schedule. Competitive pay with shift differentials on both weekdays and the weekend!

Hours and Schedule:

Weekdays: 7:00am - 3:30pm | 3:00pm - 11:30pm | 11:00pm – 7:30am

Weekends: 7:00am - 3:30pm | 3:00pm - 11:30pm | 11:00pm – 7:30am

1-hour lunch – 30 minutes paid, 30 minutes unpaid | Work 8 ½ hours, paid 8 hours

*Training and orientation provided

• One full day of training and orientation + shadow shifts until you are comfortable on your own.

Responsibilities

• Conduct medication passing, triaging, detox monitoring, suicide monitoring and medical emergencies
• Utilize the EMR system, FUSION
• The Registered Nurse (RN) or (LPN) delivers care to inmate patients utilizing the nursing assessment protocols in assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation, in accordance with established philosophy
• Nurses collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes
• Nurses effectively interact with patients, while maintaining the standard of professional nursing
• Incoming draft evaluation
• Performing other duties, as needed

Qualifications

• Active CPR/BLS certification
• Active NJ Nurse License
• Excellent critical thinking and assessment skills
• Ability to make decisions independently
