Job Title: Research Nurse

Hours: Full Time

 

SUMMARY: The research nurse division manager (RNDM) will play a key role in the development of our client’s network. Near-term, the position focuses on building infrastructure and capabilities for oncology drug research. Long-term, the position offers leaderships and mentoring opportunities for a diverse and geographically expansive research enterprise. Initially, the research nurse will be responsible for enabling community-based oncology care practices to engage in pharmaceutical sector and cooperative research programs. Following building of this infrastructure at multiple regional sites, the position will be responsible for surveillance and mentoring of research staff in the network. Additionally, the RNDM will provide a link from drug development operations to the clinical site using their experience in the pharmaceutical sector to convey operational and sponsor directives.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

 

  • Develops, trains and monitors policies and procedures,
  • Defines roles, responsibilities and accountabilities for study staff in accordance with policies,
  • Presents clinical and business material to internal and external groups on study activities, protocols, SOPs, business practices, and other topics as needed,
  • Motivates staff to pursue high quality research, sector leading customer service, and financial responsibility,
  • Ensures coverage of and performance for study center research staff,
  • May indirectly supervise research nurses, clinical research coordinators, bio-specimen coordinators, and / or clinical trial administrators,
  • Responsible for regulatory oversight of assigned study centers,

 

WORKSKILLS:

 

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills required, including the ability to teach principles of ethical research conduct to study centers.
  • Strong sense of prioritization and execution against critical deliverables, coupled with a sense of personal ownership for key projects.
  • Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices and produces and evaluates, implements, and documents scientific research.

 

EXPERIENCE:

 

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in oncology nursing
  • 5+years of relevant experience in monitoring, project management and clinical research coordination
  • 3+years of relevant experience in managing cross-functional teams in a matrix environment.

 

 

EDUCATION:

 

  • Associates Degree in Nursing
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Current, Valid NJ RN and/or APN and/or PA License
  • Certificate in Clinical Research – SORCA, ACRP preferred
  • Certificate in Oncology Nursing
  • Chemotherapy Certification -Preferred.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

 

  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Sit up to 8 hours per day, must be able to lift 10-15 lbs. occasionally.
